Prefers warmth and fears severe cold, with strong heat tolerance. Growth stops at temperatures below 8°C. Seeds can germinate when air temperature is around 13°C and soil temperature is about 15°C. However, both seed germination and the growing period are most suitable at temperatures of 25-30°C. If the average monthly temperature drops below 17°C, it affects flowering and fruiting. Night temperatures below 14°C result in slow growth, smaller plants, narrower leaves, fewer flowers, and more flower drop. Optimal temperatures of 26-28°C promote abundant flowering, high yield, and good quality.
